Avatar: The Last Airbender-My Better Choice for Director

Okay, so Ed threw the gauntlet down for us to come up with our choice for director for "The Last Airbender" because naming it "Avatar: The Last Airbender" would have confused to many moviegoers into thinking we got another Navi flick out. Come to think of it they should have wouldn't hurt box office receipts a little bait and switch why not. Go in to see big ole blue people and come out with a flick about a bald kid who must save the world from big bad fire guys.

But I digress much like Ed, I think M. Night Shyamalan is the worst possible director for film. Look I have enjoyed his earlier films love The Sixth Sense, thought Unbreakable was one of the best superhero films to come out in awhile and argued with Ed regarding the merits of Signs. But since his films have degraded to a point that watching paint dry is a more fulfilling experience. So I am truly worried about "The Last Airbender" the man has not done a large effects filled spectacle film that needs to be paced faster than anything he has ever done. I have been proven wrong before I though John Favreau was a terrible choice for Iron Man but the man proved me wrong. So if M. Night can pull it off I will like Ed take back all that I have ever said about the man, well maybe not all of it.

So who is my better choice to direct this film? Well I went asian as well although I really dig Ang Lee I feel that Yimou Zhang is a better fit for what this franchise needs. Zhang gave us, incase you didn't know, Hero, House of The Flying Daggers and Curse of The Golden Flower just to name a few. He knows spectacle has a wondrous sense of color and style each frame of film this man shoots is breathtaking. That's not even mentioning the fight sequences in his films who can forget the fight "Hero" with the old man playing his instrument at that bar during a rain storm. Zhang is the man for this film but alas we are stuck with M. Night.

My kung fu is far more effective than yours! Who's next?
